It’s the first week of January and I already have broken my New Year’s Resolutions. I want to drink less, eat healthier food, reduce my coffee intake and exercise more. Sounds like pretty standard New Year’s Resolutions to me. I should be able to keep at least one or two of them.
I can admit that I have a tiny love affair with my smart phone, who doesn’t right? I decided to look for apps that would help me keep my New Year’s Resolutions.
Check out this article to help you find the right app for you Gables Montecito. Are you going to download any of these apps? Let us know in the comments.

In light of the recent tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary, we were looking for ways that we can help those affected in some way. In doing a Google search of “ways to help Sandyhook” the fist link to populate was a list posted by USA TODAY.
If you feel inclined, you may sign the Sandy Hook Elementary School National Sympathy Card. The card will be delivered to community officials with all the signatures. You can sign that card here.

Hi, my name is Buster and I currently live in Gables Montecito. It’s a really great place. Since I moved here I have unofficially helped out with Security. It’s in my bones. Although I am a Bichon Frieze, as a pup I was lucky enough to be sent to and graduate from the prestigious Rottweiler Academy in Stuttgart Germany (Only the second “Bichon” to be so honored!!).
Back home I have tried to live my life with dignity, and grace. O.K. there have been a few incidents. One with a really nasty cockapoo which never should have happened but I was able to rely on my training and diffused what could have been a really ugly situation.
Now I live here in Florida with my Mom and Dad in semi-retired bliss. I always enjoy meeting new neighbors, usually on the street (It’s where I conduct most of my business!) By the way if you meet me, I love to be scratched behind my left ear.
Thank you, BUSTER

As Thanksgiving approaches, all I have been hearing on the news lately is how to eat healthy on Turkey Day. I thought this would be a great topic to blog about, especially because I have been trying to eat healthy all year. Here are some healthy Thanksgiving recipes I found online.

The NFL commissioner Roger Goodell received a letter from a boy in NJ, who asked for the refs to use pink penalty flags in October. Dante Cano hand wrote the letter and Goodell obliged. This just goes to show, that old fashioned letter writing isn’t dead.
Inspiration for this blog posted came from an article on the CBSSports.com website. You can see a tweet from Goodell and the handwritten letter from Dante.
Gables Montecito tips its hat to both of you!

I recently purchased my first car and I did a lot of research on how to haggle with car salesman. Buying a car should be done thoughtfully and you should really do your homework.
I didn’t come across this article when I was looking, but the tips are worth considering if you are looking to buy a new vehicle.
